Business Doctors has been shortlisted for a national franchise award

The homegrown SME support franchise is one of just three finalists in the PR category of the Franchise Marketing Awards 2017.

It is the St Helens headquartered company's sixth shortlisting since 2013.

The nominated PR campaign saw Business Doctors' franchisees receive 119 media mentions in one year, including numerous Telegraph, Guardian and Management Today appearances.

Altogether, 27 franchisee took part in the campaign, speaking to journalists about SME-related subjects including funding, cash flow, auto enrolment, employee engagement, networking, customer returns and late payers.

Hazel Davis, a freelance business journalist is known for her work on national newspapers including The Telegraph and The Times. She said: "Whenever I am looking for comment on small business issues, I have come to trust Business Doctors as a credible and highly responsive source. Their expertise is wide ranging and they are well practised at expressing business concepts in layman's terms".

Freelance business writer Mike Peake is another journalist who has come to rely on the franchisees' input. He said: "Business Doctors are fantastic. As a freelance journalist I regularly need to get hold of people with an inside knowledge of business and those who are genuinely full of insight and bright ideas about SMEs in particular are surprisingly thin on the ground.

"Business Doctors have come to the rescue on multiple occasions and I've always found them to be super-helpful and full of useful information. If I were setting out as a start-up, they'd be my first port of call."

Other award categories include best franchise marketing support, best website, best print, best online marketing campaign and best overall marketing campaign.
